Development: Shots

Faith (below) uses a hand-held HD camera to capture the band performing. This hand-held approach to filming allowed us to record footage that had a degree of movement attached to it - particularly effective against our non-diagetic song choice, 'Thinking of Me'.

The shots above were taken on a white-screen background, however manipulating the images using Photoshop to adding the sepia effect and also the different lay-out techniques. This has given the alternative feel which I aim to use within the CD jewel case.

Filming the Narrative

As an essential aspect of the mise-en-scene, we used several props during filming; pictured above is the daffodil that we used to enhance the love and fun of the characters in our narrative - we used this daffodil as a running motif throughout the video. To enforce the love, we added an effect found in the effects on Premier-Pro; this addition of lens flare during the editing process only added to the joyous nature of our narrative.
We gathered many props for our carefully constructed mise-en-scene.  To ensure we recognised every aspect of the mise-en-scene, we made sure that the set/setting in which we were filming was housing the conventions that we wanted to be included in our video.

Development: Images for Ancillary Tasks - White Screen

The strengths of research meant that I knew exactly what types of images to capture to convert with the conventions already exisiting. As a group we decided on White Screen shots in a studio and also landscape shots to create mise-en-scene.

T-shirt Production

Embarking upon promotion I decided T-shirt's would be a great venture. Howver after drafts and research I realised I did not have the skills possible to create T-shirts so decided it would be a wise choice to create posters and a Digi-pack as my skills will mean a professional product will be developed.

Poster Promotion

Above are several different promotional posters I made using Photoshop. I decided to use the Union Flag as a running motif throughout the project as it fits with the retro music video and also has a huge appeal. This was also decided by using audience feedback as I asked various age groups what they thought of the union Flag and it seemed to be a sure winner.

Digipack Production

Drafts are vital within promotion as this is where you can put your ideas on a page and truly see whetehr or not it will look any good. From drafts it is easy to produce your product below you will see various differant attempts.

This has given me a great way of converting to the rules set out in the drafts.
